Our bluing process that makes us different 06/22/2010 - By Donald Kline
Here is a sample of our work
The approach to proper bluing begins with the polishing. This is an opinion it may not be completley correct although the results are astonashing and uncomparable to our competitors. We are a small company in Midland Michigan. read on for more info
Smoking Gun Gunsmithing was started by Don Kline. Don graduated from Ashworth College with a 3.9 GPA. He has ten years experience in gun repairs and a lifetime of hunting and firearms experience. Bluing is a passion that Don holds to heart. A firearm that is been over used and has a blemish or two that makes the customer feel like they need to have cosmetic upgrades to bring the firearm back to new is what he makes happen in his shop. Don has almost perfected the polishing. By taking the polish to the next level just pushing the metal almost past mirror to absolute we can get a bluing glow that will amaze your friends. Don understands gun barrels are not lens quality steel and will have more proxy and blemishes in the steel vs. a high grade steel that can be used to make lenses. although with our polishing technique Don can give your firearm a higrade blue that will outshine his competitors. We take the time to stone and buff the metal with all the patience and time that it takes to get the job right.
